粉嶺圍由彭氏族人於明朝萬曆年間（1573-1620）建成。其獨特的建築佈局以半月形風水魚塘及具防衛功能的傳統門樓聞名，是香港少數能完整保留古風與宗族凝聚力的傳統圍村。

Fanling Wai was established by the Pang clan during the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620). Famous for its distinctive layout featuring a crescent-shaped Feng Shui fish pond and a defensive watchtower gate, it is one of Hong Kong's rare walled villages that comprehensively preserves ancient customs and strong clan solidarity.

粉嶺彭氏為新界五大族之一，尊彭桂為宋初太始祖。族人原籍潮州揭陽，於南宋末年南下，初居龍山，後遷粉嶺樓，隨後部分子孫西遷建立粉嶺圍。

The Pang clan of Fanling is recognized as one of the Five Great Clans of the New Territories, honoring Pang Guai as their premier ancestor from the early Song Dynasty. Migrating southwards from Jieyang, Chaozhou during the late Song Dynasty, they initially settled at Lung Shan, moved to Fanling Lau, and eventually founded Fanling Wai.

Today, members of the Pang clan have branched out across the globe. However, during major traditional festivals and ancestral worship ceremonies, overseas clansmen return consistently to participate, demonstrating deep-rooted kinship and cultural unity.
